Who We Are

We are IATSE Local 480 (New Mexico) Set Medic film technicians who work to provide informed and efficient first aid care to cast and crew. We come from a wide variety of medical specialties, technical expertise and personal experience. As individuals or as a group we are able to meet your needs for medical coverage on feature film, television, or commercials.

The Set Medics on this site maintain individual Professional Liability Insurance coverage and are occasionally available to provide first aid services for special events that do not pertain to film production (concerts, dance performance, fund raisers, etc).

You’ll always be able to quickly find a Ready Set Medic at work. We proudly wear a “uniform” of brightly colored blue and yellow reflective vests, with our first names prominently displayed. We feel that the medic should be on a first name basis with all cast and crew and regularly walk through all parts of the set, practicing and memorizing names. Our goal is to assist in assuring safety and offering preventative medical care or first aid assistance while minimizing crew downtime or effort in locating us. On off-production sets, we assure rapid access to the medic by employing 2-way radios and a fixed, central “base” location for the medic.
